What are the quality requirements for ampoules?
Ampoules (ampoule/ampule) are small glass containers for growing medicinal solutions, usually with a capacity of 1 ~ 25 ml, used for storing medicines, vaccines, serums, etc. They are also used for oral dosage packaging, but they are open to consumers and have the potential for accidents, so they should be used with care.
An ampulla is a specimen containing the blood of the deceased, commonly found in Roman tombs (Christian catacombs). At first it was only available for the funerals of martyrs, but later became a common custom.
What is the origin of the ampulla? Let's analyse it below. The Blood Miracle of San Gennaro is celebrated in Naples every year on 19 September, a date that has lasted for centuries. It is said that the blood-filled ampulla of Bishop San Gennaro 3354 Benevito was placed next to his breast in the Cathedral of Naples before 305 AD. The blood of the ampulla may have liquefied after the sound of the "offspring of St. Gennero", the lush prayers and the powerful shaking of the archbishop. An early record of this phenomenon dates from 313 AD. Another well known ampulla is the "sacred ampulla" containing the sound of the coronation of the Pope. It was handed down from the time of Clovis and was deposited in the tomb of Saint-Rémy and later in the cathedral of Lemis. The pendulum was broken during the Revolution of 1793, but parts of it were still kept at Charles' tenth coronation.
Modern ampoules are made from glass tubes fired and are widely used to contain injections, which require air-blocking high-purity chemicals. The nipple of the ampoule is encapsulated in a flame to insulate it from air, and the neck of the bottle is marked so that it breaks when pressure is applied, so the medicinal solution can be extracted.
Before opening the ampoule, cut a scratch through the neck with an abrasive wheel, sterilise the neck, pull the nipple upwards to allow all the medicinal solution to flow into the bottle and then simply break the neck. Folding ampoules mark the site on the nipple where the manufacturer has cut it off beforehand, and it is sufficient to break the nipple directly in that direction.
So what are the quality requirements for ampoules? Now let's all analyse them together.
1. Ampoule glass should be colourless and transparent;
2. It should have a small expansion coefficient and good heat resistance.
3. It should have sufficient physical strength to withstand the high air pressure difference generated during hot pressure sterilization.
4. High chemical stability and constant PH value of the solution;
5. low melting point, easy to melt and seal;
6. No foam points and sand particles.
The washing methods for ampoules are, 1. water shaking washing method 2. steam and water pressurized jet washing method.
Due to defective ampoules or wrong handling, when opening ampoules, it can break the nipple, or even the bottle, injuring health care workers and causing contamination by dripping glass fragments in the medicinal solution. Particles of glass and abrasive wheels can also cause contamination of the medicinal solution during the opening of the ampoule.
